DIdn't we get Randal Simon right around the trade deadline too? Can't remember what the details were but that guy sure could hit the sausages.

Jolly Cholly Grimm. He used to regularly show up in polls and all-time teams as the Cubs greatest 1st baseman (post 1900). It was either him or Chance. Since Ernie's heydays were at SS, Grace and Lee emerge as new choices. How would you rank the Cubs all-time first basemen. Matt Stairs, Hoffpauir, and LaHair probably didn't have enough games to qualify. Might be forgetting someone, but I'd say the real candidates would be:

Chance
Grimm
Caverretta
Banks
Durham
Buckner
Grace
Lee

Give it a few years and Rizzo should have a good shot to crack this list.

Sorry to hear about your loss Phil. My condolences.

In Topic: Rahm Emanuel - $300M to DePaul

As a taxpayer I have a problem with this especially since the United Center offered to let DePaul play their basketball games at the UC for 10 years, rent free! It's good enough for the Bulls but not good enough for DePaul?! C'mon man!

I want DePaul to return to its glory days of the 70's and 80's as well, but I certainly don't want to pay for the arena if they can play at a world class facility for free.
