#26122 Cubs v. White Sox - June 19, 2012 (TV: CSN, WGN (Sox))

I like that Wood challenged Konerko. I'm not surprised to see the strong hit to left. This is baseball: Konerko knew something, Wood learned something (we hope).

I've watched Kerry's whole career. I remember 98, skipping class to watch Kerry's starts--then he fired a 20-strikeout game and I was on fire with excitement.

Kerry's not pitching like he used to, anymore, I get it. But I'll be sad to see him go. Good guy. Great Cub.

Phuck the phucking Phillies. Thankfully it's just a 2-game series. I have no doubts about the outcome of game three at this point, and I'd just prefer to see them leave.

dude, its not soto is it?
pat said castillo was playing

oh, my bad. it was his spot in the order and he flew out. just assumed it was soto.

Every time a Cubs hitter is out I think it's Soto, but only since Marlon Byrd was traded.

Heyward reminds me of a younger, faster, Derrek Lee/Fred McGriff hybrid.

Loved watching Ludwick play that ball off the wall like Soriano would have last year.

LaHair's a phenomenal story. I would like to know more about how a guy like that continues to get lost/stuck/forgotten in the minor leagues. What's the deal?

Well, let's remember the season is still early. I have my fingers crossed that he can keep performing at 80% of this level the whole season. He could just be on an extraordinary hot streak to be followed by a massive slump once pitchers figure out and exploit his weaknesses.

He's hit everywhere he's played. Look at his MiLB stats--he's a professional hitter, always has been. How did a team as bad as the Mariners--who have a DH spot available to them--consistently overlook LaHair?

So what did I miss?

Three flaming bags of shit followed by a trickle of the the tiniest reasons for hope visible via the romanticized hope of a Cub fan with a microscope.

The usual.

WGN gives the AAA report--they're behind. I already read about it on BN.

#9993 Why the 2012 Cincinnati Reds Will Suck

Posted by J.F.Edwards on 15 March 2012 - 12:14 PM

Everyone Else Thinks They Suck

Apparently Aroldis Chapman is losing some zip on his heater and Jeff Passan is getting in on the hit parade: http://sports.yahoo....fastball_031512

And I hate to admit it but if Chapman can't cut it as a starter, I think we'd all agree they'll have the best 1-2 punch of lefty bullpen specialists you can buy for $46.25 million. So, when they're down five runs in the 7th inning, you can bet they aren't likely to be down much more in the 9th.
