Yeah, I don't see service time or super two status being a big deal in any decisions regarding Watkins.  His most likely role is that of super sub - not a guy that causes any roster decision worries.

Watkins could probably stick as a average to below-average 2B in my opinion. He probably wouldn't have a problem putting an OPS around .700 which is average for that position, and his defense is fine. I think people pigeon-hole Watkins as a supersub just because he COULD fill that role, even when he could do more.

Sappelt was just sent down in favor of Ryan Sweeney.

Logan Watkins will probably get a September call up to stall a Super Two status. He only hits lefties, so a platoon with Borbon doesn't make sense. Ransom and Valbuena can both play 2B, so if we move Barney (like we should have this past off season), there's no reason to start the clock on Watkins in a lost year.

Watkins has a reverse split this year, fwiw. OPS .973 against righties, OPS .656 against lefties.

Leake is the kind of pitcher I can get behind, honestly. He seems like a dude that just really makes the most of what his body gives him.

Talking about Leake going directly to the major leagues-

some scout (I can't remember who, maybe it was KLaw) said that Appel could make the majors the year he was drafted. I wonder if that's just bluster, or if people said the same about Leake when he was coming out?
