Posted by hansman1982 on 28 February 2013 - 03:17 PM

from now on I'm going to respond to morken's idiotic statements with sarcastic gifs like this Posted Image

because it's obvious that when you try to reason with him he calls you a "pussy" "bitch" "cunt ball" etc

I'd say that Penny is my #2 fav woman right now. Behind:

Mork -

This isn't about Marge Schott, this is about you and always having to be right, and if anyone disagrees with your opinion you lambaste them. I have a few comments for you:

  • You obviously think you're smarter than everyone else. Fact is, you're not nearly as smart as you think you are, and even if you were, you'll never be any better because people that know everything will never learn anything new.
  • You don't know how to make a comment without including an insult. You think you're clever and funny, and again, the fact is, nobody here thinks you're either of those things.
  • You are on a Cub's site where people come together to discuss Cub topics. Do you really want to be a part of this community? From your behavior, my guess is no as you've pretty much insulted every regular poster (including Brett on the main boards). This tells me that you are either 1) an attention whore, or 2) a troll who just gets his jollies out of insulting others.
I can't speak for anyone but myself here, but Mork, for me, the best route to handle people like you is to just completely ignore you. Consider this the very last communication I have with you on any topic ever. If we all do this, maybe you'll eventually go away, or at least learn how to communicate in an adult manner.

The rest of the people posting here have built a reputation for themselves with the way they communicate in a positive fashion on a regular basis. You would do yourself well to do the same.

I am now going to go eat a Twinkie (which I thoroughly hate) in your honor!

This is turning into one of my favorite threads of all time.

Meh, the "Marge Schott wasn't such a bad person" thread.

This one is truly obscure. If Spriggs would have gotten this one, I would have to suggest he be tested for PEDs.

Wait, I was promised that there was to be no drug testing here. Has something changed? A new Message Board CBA happen while I was busy yesterday?

Uh oh.

Don't worry, we are only testing for PED's. What you take is most certainly not a PED.

I was going to mention... or ask... another player named Chavez was also hitting in the Baez/Soler group today. He's a huge 24 year old Venezuelan kid who swings well in the cages. Anyone know much about him?

Johermyn Chavez - Cubs signed him to a minor league deal in November sometime I believe. From what I've read, he was tearing it up last year for the Seattle Mariners in Rookie ball and then got a bump to AA ball. Struggled a bit there posting a line of .232 | .339 | .386 with an OPS of .725. While playing in AA though, he faced our Tennessee Smokies quite a bit and I'm assuming our front office saw something they liked.

I saw this posted elsewhere on Chavez -- "On the year, Chavez has hit .242/.345/.423 with sixteen doubles and ten home runs over 265 at-bats between Seattle’s rookie club and their Double-A affiliate. Over seven seasons in the minors, he’s hit .263/.341/.442."

From his stats is appears he has a decent eye with an acceptable K% for a slugger. He may have gone from R to AA last year but the year before he was at AA as well but, only had an 83 wRC+. He was a bit better in AA last year with a 108 wRC+ and had a 12.2 BB%. His BABIP was also down both stints in AA. That may make the difference in his lines.

After 7 years in the minors and almost 800 PA in AA, he is about at the make or break point.

I wonder if they see him as just AA-AAA filler or a legit guy with a call-up chance -- even this year if injuries hit? He does handle the bat quite well in the cages off BP pitchers in ST!

I doubt he would get a shot this year. The OF is pretty crowded. I mean we couldn't even hold onto Campana.

FO Ineptitude...smh

exotic Springfield, IL.... Eat your hearts out!

Ah, Springfield...

Summer 1998. Lived in an old apple cellar on the back chunk of my then-girlfriend's parents' property on the outskirts of the southwest part of the city.

It puts the lotion in the basket.

Pretty much.

And wolf spiders the size of dinner plates.

Not the best time of my life...

Did you at least get some sweet Car Trader magazines out of the deal?

Also, did your girlfriend's parents know that you were there?

Wow, you'd rather have Campana over Bourn?

Good for you.

#35930 Fear the Iranians and their fiberglass fighter jet of doom

Posted by hansman1982 on 13 February 2013 - 09:25 AM

Because Iran would never use bad mockups, terribly edited photos, and a blissful willingness to believe the planet is populated by idiots in an attempt to fake a major news story. Nope. Not Iran.

Even The Onion couldn't make this stuff up.

I'm pretty sure there was a DVD player installed in that thing.

It has a Snoy 3.5 gigawatt CD player with the flip face, 2 Garmins (can't trust American technology), a vanity mirror, PS2 and Gamecube hooked up to separate monitors, tape deck, and more switches than the pilot knows what to do with (or can reach).

#35702 Reasons Brett makes an appearance in the comments

Posted by hansman1982 on 07 February 2013 - 12:09 PM

Haha yeah i was just joking around. I thought we could get a funny thread going, nothing more

In light of that:

6. It's his website and, much like Javier Baez, he can do whatever the fuck he wants.
7. He truly "likes" to........."interact".........with his "readership" and has a "passion".........for the "Cubs"............

8. To pretend to be numerous, scatological, ex-presidents.

And to bring us Better News than we have heard previously...

Other topics for discussion:

Carlos Boozer - unfortunate name if he were a raging alcoholic. What do you think?
That picture TWC posted yesterday, gross or not? You be the judge.
I have belly-button lint. Do you?
Kerry Wood struck out 20 batters in one game. Awesome! He will have a fantastic career!

#34904 Cubs Calendar 1/11/13 - Relievers

Posted by hansman1982 on 11 January 2013 - 02:16 PM

Which Cubs reliever has the strike outs in a single season?

I wanna know how all you people started guessing -- correctly! -- based on Phil's non-question. Edit: I mean, the missing word *could* have been "fewest"...

Now that is funny. I didn't even notice that "most" was left out.

Is it? I thought the question was just asking which Cub had them. You know, the strikeouts. One of those damn relievers has just been hoarding them.

Hoarding them and giving them to Brett Jackson...

Brett Jackson strikes out so much, his momma is fat.

If striking out were a disease Brett Jackson would be Patient Zero.

Really, Joe, that's what you go with for your 500th comment. God you are a pathetic human being.

#34515 Football

Posted by hansman1982 on 07 January 2013 - 12:32 PM

I agree with your initial point on concussions, Pete. Let's face it, 99.9% of players in the NFL are using HGH and/or steroids (at least this is my opinion), and the NFL does absolutely nothing about it. They continue to change the rules to make hitting less extreme while ignoring the root cause of the problem - you have 300 lb. men running 4.4 40's. Speaking of the '85 Bears, remember 'The Fridge' being such a huge man? These days, I dare say he wouldn't even be an average size lineman.

Anyhow, my displeasure with the NFL is they continue to change the rules to protect the players, and the penalties are becoming more and more decisive in who wins the game (like the NBA). They wouldn't need all these contact rules if the players were closer to normal size, but they have done nothing to address PED's in a sport where it is most obviously being abused.

The problem is there isn't a stat in football that is as visible to see the PED usage like HR's in baseball, or it could just be that we are seeing the NFL version of MLB Circa: 1998 play out right now and in 10 years all of the football pundits will be crying about how the players of today were cheating and they lied about it.

Cubbie Blues (Tim?):
Yes, when it comes to scoring a touchdown, I don't really care how they celebrate, they earned it. But for tackling a guy AFTER he gains serious yardage? Bah humbug.
