Why would the marlins trade Stanton for that stuff? If they were really interested in trading him AND why would they, then they could certainly do much better than what you are offering.

The same goes for upton! Why would the backs trade him for the garbage you are offering? And, if they are all that good of prospects then why would the cubs make the trade?

If building teams were as easy as making these trades that you propose then anybody could do it. It's not that simple!

In Topic: Alfonso Soriano's market value, here's why:

You make total sense, bleacher hero.

The problem is the cubs don't have a left fielder in the minors waiting to replace soriano. If they trade soriano and plug in shierholtz they will lose even more games next year as they did this year.

It's a catch 22!

They might as well keep soriano! They're going to eat so much of his salary anyhow and there is no one in the minors to replace his bat.

Take soriano out of that line up and it is probably the worst cubs offensive line up ever!!!!

And while were making crazy trade ideas.... After we get price let's trade Brett Jackson and a ptbnl for kershaw.

And then we will trade vitters and a ptbnl for Ryan Zimmerman.

This is so easy to build a world series team. What are the cubs waiting for?

Let's also do just a ptbnl for kugel.

Why David price? I know he's really solid starter, but there are others. You have to target two or three and get the best deal for your team.

The lineup looks prettyngood, but certainly no guarantees that any or some of those minor leaguers are destined for the big leagues or will stay when they get here.

In Topic: Edwin Jackson or Shaun Marcum

The hole Hendry dug was giving out no trade clauses.

You can sign whoever you want and then trade them for prospects later.

Padres are out on Edwin Jackson if it goes to a 4th year. I agree with Brett, in that, we should only go as high as 4/$48M-$50M.

Deal Garza to Texas for 3B Olt and RHSP Grimm (or LHSP Perez if you can) in the middle of Spring Training.

You say the problem is no trade clauses and not the length and the money in the contracts.

Then give me a list of players we could have traded, but the no trade clauses caused the problem of trading that player.

I'll give you dumpster, but I'll wait to see your list which will have to be lengthy.
