5412,

Just wanted to say I have always been a huge fan of Dallas Green. No man has had a more positive impact on the Cubs over the last 30 years and he rarely gets credit...

Thanks for sharing

In regards to your first response Luke, do you think that teams just bring in guys like Coghlan, Valaika, etc. just to soak up these at bats? All non-rosters are definitely not equal going in, Bonifacio, Kalish have legit chances...those other guys, not so much

I guess the simplest way to state what I was attempting to say is i wish they had just a few less slop guys...how about 35-40 guys getting at bats?

Some good points Luke, but it would be hard to quantify if 10-15 more at bats in Spring Training means a player is going to wear down in August...yes, the games are meaningless, but no other sport takes such a leisurely approach to preparing for the season...I am not suggesting that they have to go balls out to win every ST game...but baseball eases in to everything...

Hitting at the major league level is(in my opinion) the hardest skill of any sport...and when I see Junior Lake with only 28 at bats, I just wonder if amping it up just a bit, might better prep a guy for the season...

Teams don't win the division in April and May, but slow starts can lose it for you...

Aramis Ramirez always eased into the season(usually due to injury), and it would take him two months to start hitting...well after contention time in his last few years with the Cubs

Sorry I offended you Paul, it was written as a satire of the show...

I too have lost close family members to cancer, and was not making light of cancer, just the dialogue of the characters of a TV show...
