Help Me Give the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago Some Free Baseballs

Chicago Cubs News

Every so often, we get an opportunity to do something easy and small that can have a meaningful impact on those around us. I would encourage you to take those opportunities, especially if you’re getting absolutely nothing in return.

To wit:

While many of us have the privilege of watching and playing baseball on well-equipped fields, there are many children across America that never get that opportunity. We can do something to change that. That’s why I’ve teamed up with Diamonds & Dreams, which is sponsored by Chevrolet and Major League Baseball.

Diamonds & Dreams provides dozens of prizes, which include field makeovers, clinics and equipment packages for youth baseball communities across America. Anyone can enter for a chance to win the prizes – or a chance to win a trip for four to the MLB All Star Game, or your own new Chevrolet.

You can find out more, and even play a mini baseball game, here.

Play a Game of Catch on Twitter

As for my small part in helping Diamonds & Dreams do their thing, they’ve asked me to play a game of “catch” on Twitter today (only), and each time someone retweets my tweets about the event, the Boys & Girls Club of Chicago gets a free baseball (up to 100 free baseballs). So, for those of you who tweet, look for Bleacher Nation’s “#playcatch” tweets, and retweet them. Or throw your own tweet out there. Just make sure the tweet contains the #playcatch hash tag and the following link to the Diamonds & Dreams Facebook page:

That’s all you have to do, and some kid will have a baseball to throw around.

Diamonds & Dreams is doing some great things, by the way:
