BN Trade Deadline Blogathon: Hour 13

dusty sleeping blogathonI am currently blogging – here, on Facebook, and on Twitter (hash tag #BNBlogathon for those who want to jump into the fray themselves) – for 37 hours straight, until slightly past MLB’s July 31 non-waiver Trade Deadline, thanks to your generous donations to Make-A-Wish. I’ll be doing recaps on the process throughout the day, but you’ll also see normal posting (Bullets, news, Pre-Gamin’, EBS), as well as a significant uptick in rumor/trade posts.

We await #Hugs in tonight’s game(s), and the second live stream, which is coming at 8pm CT. I will not toot my own horn – at least not until after midnight – but I am told that the first one was not terrible. So watch and enjoy. It’ll be like we’re watching the game together!

There have been a bunch of updates on the Doubront trade (now official) and the Bonifacio rumors.

I guess you’d have to say it’s Chris Rusin coming up without a corresponding roster move announced quite yet.

Current Thoughts About the Chicago Cubs’ Trade Deadline Strategy/Execution:

We’ll see what they get for Bonifacio, but I do like taking a flyer on Doubront (and, to be clear, that’s all this is). Might as well play while the opportunities are out there. Hey, that’s what I typed last time. I think I’ll keep it for now.

Current Beverage/Stimulant of Choice:

Half Coke, half Diet Coke from Wendy’s. I gotta keep my figure, but I like my flavor.

Number of Failed Attempts to Re-Collar Our Feistiest Cat:

I’m eager to get a little weird, but I feel like that can’t come until later (when I can blame it on caffeine and sleep deprivation, rather than just the dark recesses of my own mind).
