The Cubs will head out to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick this afternoon, to take on the Colorado Rockies at their home ballpark.
Kyle Hendricks takes the ball for the Cubs in what will be his fourth start of the spring. And so far, the results have been very good.
In his 9.0 IP, he’s allowed just two earned runs on seven hits, NO walks and TEN strikeouts (opposing batters are hitting just .212).
And while I know that the results don’t really matter too much right now (and that he’s been facing a lot of guys that’ll be in the Minor Leagues in a few weeks), there’s nothing wrong with enjoying his dominance and dreaming on a repeat of his Cy Young caliber 2016 season.
In case you missed the news, Eloy Jimenez will be shelved for the next three weeks (which is actually a great outcome, all things considered) so he won’t be in there today with the rest of the prospects. BUT you can still see Ian Happ – the Cubs’ consensus #2 prospect and Spring Training dominator – continue to rake in big league camp. He may not be here for much longer, so get your fill while you can.
Today’s game is being broadcast by the Rockies on ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain. The Cubs-based audio will be available at MLB.com. For future reference, you can check which games will be televised here.
