Chicago Cubs Lineup: The World Series MVP is Back!

Cubs Lineups

Today, the Chicago Cubs are hosting the San Francisco Giants at Sloan Park.

With Jake Arrieta on the mound and lineup mixed with nominal starters (including the return of Ben Zobrist!) and some depth types, the Cubs are ramping up for Opening Night.

Here’s the Cubs lineup:

  1. Ben Zobrist, RF
  2. Jason Heyward, CF
  3. Anthony Rizzo, 1B
  4. Javy Baez, 2B
  5. Miguel Montero, C
  6. Tommy La Stella, 3B
  7. Jon Jay, LF
  8. Jake Arrieta, P
  9. Chesny Young

Starting Pitcher: Jake Arrieta

After missing several games with a stiff neck, World Series MVP and Cubs second baseman Ben Zobrist finally returns to the lineup, albeit in right field. And he’ll be getting some extra at-bats to make up for the lost time:

Addison Russell (back) still hasn’t played yet, but his return is also imminent:

For the most part, it seems as though there’s nothing to worry about just yet.

As for the rest of the lineup, Jason Heyward bats second, Javy Baez cleans up, and Tommy La Stella continues to make his case for the final spot on the bench over Matt Szczur.

Jake Arrieta bats eighth and probably won’t break his own home record for the second time this Spring, right?

As usual, we’ll have your full Pre-Gamin’ closer to game time.
