Kyle Schwarber Tried to Score from 2B on a Wild Pitch – No Dice, But It Looked Great! (VIDEO)

Chicago Cubs Highlights

Kyle Schwarber got a hit and two walks today, stole another base, and continued to look like a guy who is going to carry forward – or improve upon – a great second half in 2017. You know, to the extent anyone can look like anything with any level of confidence in Spring Training.

Schwarber even added a dose of fun today when he tried to take home from second base on a wild pitch. He didn’t quite get there, but it was a lot of fun to watch him try (MLB):

Almost had it, and man alive, that just does not look like Kyle Schwarber.

I’m not saying he suddenly looks like a speed guy, or even that I can say he looks definitively faster than he was last year. But I am saying that when you watch a clip like that, if you didn’t see his face, or didn’t have his name in front of you, it would take some time to confirm that it was Schwarber. Certainly body movements, yes, are still Schwarberesque. But there are moments when I’d flat out swear it was someone else.
