Another good sign in Yu Darvish’s recovery from triceps inflammation – not only did he come out of his latest bullpen session feeling good, he’s playing catch again today, and will throw a live bullpen session at Wrigley Field on Tuesday.
#Cubs Darvish playing catch in LF now (it's 95 degrees). He's expected to throw 3rd bullpen when team is home Mon-Wed

Tentative plan for Darvish is to throw live BP off Wrigley mound Tuesday
— Mark Gonzales (@MDGonzales) June 17, 2018
If the Cubs play things conservatively, even if Darvish looks and feels good in that session on Tuesday, it’s possible he’ll do another live BP session before going out on a rehab assignment. Even in that case, it’s still mathematically possible he could make a big league start before the All-Star break, but only if those two or three go smoothly. Hopefully, though, he’ll be ready for a rehab assignment as soon as next weekend.
Either way, things are progressing along a track that makes it possible, and that’s good news.
Also, Darvish had a little fun out there today throwing lefty (as he’s done impressively before):
Yu Darvish is out in LF right now throwing knuckleballs, changeups, and fastballs…LEFT HANDED.

Don’t worry, Darvish hasn’t given up rehabbing his right arm and is instead trying to become a lefty. Of course, if he wanted to become the Pat Venditte of starting pitchers, that’d be fun …
