The Chicago Cubs’ offense sufficiently heated up over the past week that there are several guys you could laud for having a really nice stretch of games. But one hulking beast of a first baseman/relief pitcher stands out above the rest.

Not only did Anthony Rizzo post those spectacular numbers this past week, he pushed his season-long numbers ever closer to the kind of range you’d expect from Rizzo: .272/.369/.467, 21 homers, 84 RBI.
And his wRC+, which is now 121, is trending rapidly upward:
