WATCH: Daniel Murphy Goes Way Down to GOLF One Out of the Park

Chicago Cubs Highlights

The Cubs’ bats seem to be breaking back out from the depths of their fatigued slump, with their second straight five-run game (and counting).

The most recent two runs tonight came courtesy of a Daniel Murphy blast – another guy who’d really be slumping lately, and now already has two hits tonight. Including this one:

Man. How in the world do you get the barrel on that pitch, let alone firmly enough and at an angle to hit it out of the park? Murphy’s been doing that on those low, inside pitches for a while, though (I’m still haunted by the one in the 2015 NLCS against Jake Arrieta).

The shot was 100.4 mph and 395 feet, so it was no cheapy. Impressive. Murphy’s now back up to .289/.330/.450 (107 wRC+) on the year.
