Carlos Zambrano is Coming Back to Play with the Chicago Dogs! I Will Watch That!

Chicago Cubs News, Cubs Fun and Humor

The Chicago Dogs, who play in Rosemont, are an independent professional baseball team, open up their season at home on May 17. When they do, they’re going to have a familiar face on the roster.

BIG Z!

Carlos Zambrano, now 37 and seven years removed from pitching in the big leagues, told the Sun-Times he had a job with the Dogs and was going to make a go of it this year. How about Zambrano coming out of the bullpen, and also serving as a pinch hitter? Why not, right?

Apparently Zambrano, who kinda-sorta tried a comeback last year in Mexico, is throwing in the mid-90s, and might even want to try to parlay this into another big league opportunity. We’ll see what happens, but this could be fun to follow this year.
