Coming off a 2015 season that saw him struggle with some physical issues, and ultimately end the year on the shelf with a hip injury that required surgery, free agent outfielder Denard Span has some things to prove if teams are going to commit serious money to him this offseason.
And he’s starting that proving process where any reasonable person would in 2016: on Twitter.
I’m not even really joking, because you must see the video Span just posted of himself jumping hurdles – and remember, this is just four months removed from hip surgery:

That would be impressive for anyone at any time, let alone a guy who is rehabbing after hip surgery.
When healthy, Span has hit rather well in the last few years, so he’s almost certainly still going to find a nice contract out there. And his new team will have to find a way to leverage his freakish jumping ability – there are only so many homers to rob, and most ballparks no longer install hurdles between the bases.
