You Just Hope the Phone Tim Anderson, Jr. Crushed Was His Own (VIDEO)

Baseball Is Fun

White Sox prospect Tim Anderson, Jr. is the organization’s best positional prospect, and a top 50 guy in all of baseball. He’s got quite a stick, as demonstrated by his solid .312/.350/.429 last year at AA.

It’s also demonstrated by him blasting a phone in the batting cage today:

After I enjoyed the video on a loop several times, I have some questions:

(1) Was that Anderson’s phone? Or did some hapless teammate, family member, or friend sacrifice their phone for our greater enjoyment?

(2) Was there actually a sacrifice? It’s hard to tell for sure if the phone stops recording because it’s busted, or because the video simply cuts off. There does seem to be some recording still happening as the phone flips perilously off of its base.

(3) Who dropped the audible “whoa” at the end? Was Anderson concerned and commenting? Was an observer impressed and swooning?

In any case, I enjoyed this. It’s like those videos of a guy getting hit in the groin by a ball, except the guy is a phone, and the groin is the screen. Or something.
