Pirates Outfielder Guest Stars in Alfred Hitchcock Film

Baseball Is Fun

Alfred Hitchcock was a master of film for a number of reasons, but I’d like to think one of them was his ability to titillate and terrify with otherwise innocuous vehicles.

I mean, birds, right? How scary can a flock of birds really be?

Well, ask Pirates outfielder Adam Frazier, who found himself amidst a swirl of hungry seagulls:

Frazier’s probably lucky that fly ball went to right field, away from him. The flying white object could have stirred the birds into a further frenzy, turning Frazier into the Tippi Hedren of the Grapefruit League.
