Outfielder Jason Lane’s MLB career spanned 14 years, and, although he stopped appearing regularly in the big leagues all the way back in 2007, he kept at it in the minor leagues until 2015, by which time he was mostly pitching.
That’s makes his new gig all the more interesting: he’s the Brewers’ assistant hitting coach.
And he can still swing it, because he just went deep in an intrasquad game this weekend:
He still knows when he crushed one, too, as you could tell by the immediate bat drop and jog. That was a bomb for the coach.
And, sure, maybe he got a cookie from the pitcher. But he still had to put good wood on it. Just enjoy it, all right?
