If you were watching the Royals/Mets opener last night, you probably noticed that, initially, Royals starter Edinson Volquez was wearing the wrong hat:

As you can see, the team was wearing some genuinely cool gold-embossed jerseys and caps, but Volquez must’ve mistakenly grabbed one of the standard Royals caps. After the first inning, he was informed of the mix-up, and came out to the mound wearing the correct hat.
But what happened to the “wrong” one?
