Team mascots often rub people the wrong way. They can be annoying, uninspired, repetitive, uninspired, or most of all, distracting. I don’t necessarily agree, but I can certainly understand – especially if you’re not at the game with kids. But sometimes, with the right idea and the perfect execution, these mascots can be pretty great entertainment – like the Astros mascot, Orbit, at the Astros/Red Sox game yesterday:

He’s like Robin Hood! “Stealing from the cotton candy rich and giving to the cotton candy-less!” You may have seen it coming from a mile away, but that was funny and a great way to improve the overall “fun” at the ballpark.

Probably doesn’t top the dance competition, though, and maybe not even the fight with the Phillie Phanatic.
