If I asked you to name one defining characteristic or factor of the Boston Red Sox Fenway Park, you would undoubtedly mention the Green Monster. The Green Monster is the famously tall (and green!) wall that sits approximately 310 feet out into left field.
Atop the Green Monster in left center field, sits an even taller (but not greener) light tower that, you know, provides light. Well, on Tuesday night, Hanley Ramirez hit a towering home run that not only cleared the Green Monster, but actually hit the light tower in left center field:

Ham, you idiot, now we can’t play no more!
According to Statcast, that ball left Ramirez’s bat at 113.6 MPH with a launch angle of 23 degrees, before traveling a massive 468 feet deep into and out of Fenway Park.
That home run is now tied for the third longest homer of the season and it was certainly a no-doubter. And I’d imagine Ramirez enjoys crushing bombs out to left field at Fenway Park much more than playing defense out in left field.
