Francisco Lindor is the young, talented and defensively-inclined shortstop for the Cleveland Indians. Although he is extremely talented with the bat, his defense is what truly separates him from the pack. Almost daily, it feels like there is a new highlight or play to share that highlights his particular skill-set and ability up the middle of the field; he’s a really quick, fun player to watch.
That said, sometimes even really good defensive athletes misplay a ball or two. They’ll take a bad path, turn the wrong way or even over run it. However, the best players can make up for their mistakes and yesterday, that’s just what Lindor did on a pop up down the left field line:

After hustling into an all out sprint, Lindor realizes the ball is about two feet behind him once he gets to his spot. But, ever flexible (both figuratively and literally), Lindor jumps, reaches back and makes the play. He won’t be able to do it every time, but he successfully got out of that one …
Whew. Lindor definitely likes to have fun out there while he’s making great plays.
.@Lindor12BC overran a fly ball but made an incredible play anyway, 'cause he’s @Lindor12BC: https://t.co/epxlLXuIA7 pic.twitter.com/1AhvnWs09y
