Bryce Harper Crushes Third Decker
By pretty much all accounts, Bryce Harper has been in something of a funk lately. The thing is, when you’re Bryce Harper, your funk includes a .446 on base percentage and a 111 wRC+. Even still, since the beginning of May, Harper has hit just three home runs in over 100 plate appearances, which is especially low for him.
But, as it turns out, Harper was just just saving up all his power for one massive shot he hit last night:
Three decks counts as three home runs, right?
In case you can’t tell, that ball goes all the way up to the third deck of Nationals Park. It was absolute rocket off the bat, traveling 437 feet from home plate with an exit velocity of 112.8 MPH. It also tied the game up for the Nationals against the Cardinals … a game the Nationals went on to win 2-1. That’s one way to remind everyone how much power you have.
