White Sox Reliever Matt Albers Doubles, Scores Game-Winning Run, Is Very Excited

Baseball Is Fun

It’s a rare moment when a relief pitcher gets to take an at bat.

It’s a rarer moment when that relief pitcher is on an American League team.

And it’s a rarer feat still when that relief pitcher slaps a double to the gap and winds up scoring the winning run in a game he also won on the mound.

For White Sox reliever Matt Albers, it was a rare day indeed:

Was he blazing fast out there? No. Was that one of the ugliest “slides” you’ve ever seen? Yes. Did he look a little silly in his celebratory moments? Yes.

But did he get the job done? A big yes.
