Eugene Emeralds CF D.J. Wilson Gets Up!

Baseball Is Fun

As a Cubs fan, I’m proud to share with you today’s awesome-est highlight. The Cubs short-season Class-A team began their season on Friday, and by Monday they already have one of the best catches I’ve seen in a while. Center Fielder D.J. Wilson tracks a fly ball hit into the left center field alley, leaves his feet, and well, just watch:

So listen, maybe my bias is shining through, but that was an especially impressive catch, wasn’t it? Not only did the play have all of the basics of a diving catch, Wilson really seems to bounce off his feet at the last moment, going higher and further than you typically see. It’s like he hit a spring board.

That was really something else.
