Baseball Karma Bites Mike Trout After He Gave Jose Altuve a Hard Time
If you have a kid at home who’s having a tough time in Little League, it’s important to remind him that everyone makes mistakes and/or does embarrassing things.
In fact, two of the very, very best players in the game – Jose Altuve and Mike Trout – made the exact same whoopsie-doodle two nights in a row, while rounding second base:
Let’s break this down into a couple of gifs, because why not? First up is Jose Altuve and the phantom helmet that strikes again:

I think my favorite part of this half is not the fall, but rather George Springer losing it over his teammate’s misfortune. It’s excellent. And to be fair, that is a really funny fall (which may have cost him a cycle!).
So funny, in fact, that Mike Trout had a good laugh about it with Altuve, razzing him before the following day’s game. Little did Trout know, the universe heard what he said to Altuve and had something planned for him, as well.
Something oddly familiar:

Trout confirmed the conversation and hilarity after the game. “There’s kind of some karma involved. I was messing with him before the game, and I just fell. I was laughing. It was just a funny moment. We’re just out there having fun. Obviously you’re not trying to trip. But it just happened. He just fell.
“That’s why I went to him. I told him, ‘Man, I shouldn’t have messed with you.'”
That’s right, Mr. Trout. The universe is always listening.
