Young Pirates Fan Goes on a Rollercoaster of Emotions

Baseball Is Fun

Baseball is a funny thing.

It can, on one beat, take you higher than you’ve ever been before – embracing strangers, spilling beer in jubilation, etc. – just moments before tearing you down – fighting strangers and pouring beer on your own head in depression. Just me? Okay.

A young Pirates fan experienced his own carnival ride of emotions (plus a heck of a lot more) in the Pirates 18 inning marathon win over the Nationals on Sunday. And it’ll all began with a game-tying, two out, two strike homer off the bat of Daniel Murphy in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Check it out:

Devastation, excitement, exhaustion, anxiousness, candy, disbelief, boredom, more exhaustion, dinner and … Hey! that’s a Starling Marte home run!! WOO! We made it!

Pirates 5

Pirates 3

Pirates 4

Pirates 7

Pirates 6

But, after nearly six hours, what he’s probably thinking is, “I finally get to go home!”
