The Seattle Mariners recently acquired a left-handed, power-hitting first base prospect named Dan Vogelbach from the Chicago Cubs, in exchange for a reliever by the name of Mike Montgomery.
What the Cubs failed to tell the Mariners, I presume, is that Vogelbach likes to pull the ball. The El Paso Chihuahua’s, however, did not miss the memo:

With only one fielder on the left side of second base (I mean, seriously?), this has got to be the most extreme example of shifting I have ever seen. Apparently it worked, though, because Vogelbach went 0-6 on the night. Ouch.
