Abracadabra: Charlie Blackmon Performs Another Magic Slide

Baseball Is Fun

Not one week after Josh Harrison twisted and turned his way out of an obvious out, Charlie Blackmon recorded baseball’s latest magic slide. And this missed tag is probably the most egregious.

Check it out:

In the process of willing a single into a double, Blackmon found himself about ten (plus) feet short of second base, when the ball arrived. But, after spending the offseason at Hogwarts, he was able to throw some smoke, retract his leg, and slide in safely (upon review).

If almost every one of these magic slides weren’t coming in on ill-advised attempts to grab an extra base, a compliment would be in order. It’s still impressive, don’t get me wrong, but if this trend continues, I’m guessing a couple of third base coaches are quickly going to lose their hair.
