Don’t Stretch a Double into a Triple When Your Dog’s a Gold Glover

Baseball Is Fun

This young prospect’s dreams were simultaneously lifted up (figuratively) and tackled down (literally) during a pick-up game of baseball in the yard.

After launching a legitimate line drive into left-center field (great placement, by the way), he started sprinting towards first and made the turn towards second. Had he stopped there, he would have been thrilled with a double, but he got greedy. Upon reaching second base (which is apparently the big tree behind the pitcher, #classic), this slugger tried to stretch his double into a triple. It didn’t work out.

Nope. Instead, the furry first basedog chased down the ball (like a good boy), and made the out just before third. The batter might be disappointed, but I think we’re all winners now.

Check it out:

It may be scored as a double, but that sure is a TOOTBLAN (Tackled Out On The Base Paths Like a Nincompoop).
