Talk about a Black Friday sale, eh?
The 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle, together with *THE* Honus Wagner card, is perhaps the best known trading card. For a variety of reasons, that particular Mantle is both exceedingly rare and exceedingly valuable, and, given the lasting legacy of Mantle’s baseball dominance, the prices you see for that card – when one can be found at all – are eye-popping.
So it is with the latest 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle to sell.
According to Beckett, one of the highest-graded Mantles in recent memory just sold for over $1.3 million. As recently as 2010, a high-quality Mantle might run you a mere $30,000. Probably should have invested, eh? Don’t worry. I’m sure your 50 copies of a 1990 Donruss Sammy Sosa will be worth a ton someday.
