Through the years, the Toronto Blue Jays – like all teams – have had a variety of uniforms. Home, home alternates, road, road alternates, special events, and on and on. So long as you don’t go overboard (*cough* Diamondbacks *cough*), it’s a fun way to change things up on a regular basis.
But what happens when the BLUE Jays decide to don a RED jersey? Chaos, I tell you! Madness!

Here’s the announcement:

The rationale? Well, it’s actually totally reasonable:
“In celebration of being Canada’s team, and just in time for #Canada150, the Blue Jays announced the team will don a new red and white uniform for select games throughout the 2017 season and beyond.”
So, then, we’ll all just have to adjust to seeing the Red Blue Jays out there at times this season. And if we’re really lucky, they’ll wear these bad boys when they head to St. Louis in late April to play the Cardinals. Nobody will know who is on which team! Jose Bautista will make a relay throw to Matt Carpenter standing on second base! Aaron Sanchez will pitch to the Cardinals’ bench! Yadier Molina will clothesline Adam Wainwright in a scuffle! BASEBALL!
