To most baseball fans, Gleyber Torres is just the hot, young Yankees shortstop prospect rocketing up the various league rankings while slashing .545/.538/.909 at Spring Training.
But for Cubs fans, like me, he might just be the one that got away.
Of course, Cubs fans will also know that Torres was the center piece in the 2016 Trade Deadline deal that sent Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman – who was admittedly pivotal to the Cubs nearly invaluable World Series chances – to the north side of Chicago.
So, all’s well that ends well … but still.

As a Cubs fan, I can’t say it wasn’t a little bit relieving (even though it doesn’t really change anything) and certainly funny to watch Torres swing completely out of his shoes over the weekend:
