WATCH: The Cubs’ Rebuild Took a Whole Lot More Than a Great 2016 Season

Baseball Is Fun

Did you know that the Chicago Cubs won the World Series?

If you have a pulse (I think you might), I’m guessing you’re very well aware – perhaps even painfully so, if you’ve called Cleveland “home.”

But the Cubs journey was much longer than the 179 games played between the regular and postseason in 2016. Instead, you might call the last out of their 2008 postseason run – Alfonso Soriano’s backwards K – the start of the Cubs’ World Series “story.”

And if you have some time on your hands, I STRONGLY suggest watching it all breeze by – highlight style – in 21 glorious minutes of the Cubs rebuilding their way into history.

From Windy City Highlights, I present a short film: The Story of the Chicago Cubs Rebuild.

You’ve never seen a highlight package like this one:

Whether you’re a Cubs fan or not, there’s no denying the drama in that story.

And after watching that video and recalling the many forgotten moments (outside of the World Series, of course), I posed this question on Twitter:

Do you agree with the field?

Or does something else come to mind. There sure were a lot of huge moments. Let’s see if they can make some more memories next season.
