Earlier today, the Seattle Mariners teased some new commercials (check them all out right here (plus bonus Twitter war between the A’s and Mariners)) and got us appropriately hyped. But believe it or not, they may have undersold it all.
Their first and (IMO) best commercial features a series of five new home run celebrations to replace the “dated” bat flip in 2017:
Bat flips are so last season.

That list again, in case you missed it, includes:
1. The Swashbuckler
2. The Jockey
3. The LullabyÂ

4. The Grandpa
5. The Drum Major
Which do you think will take hold this season? I’m partial to the grandpa myself, but it is too bad David Ross has already retired. Also, “Swash Buckler” definitely has the best name, right?
Eh, even still, I think I’ll stick with a good old fashioned bat flip. That’s the way players celebrated back in my day … when they still had respect for the game. /s
