The Baltimore Orioles turned a dropped fly ball by shortstop J.J. Hardy into a pitcher’s best, but rarest friend … the triple play!
So…the @Orioles turn a triple play! #MLBNShowcase pic.twitter.com/xJiyAeT3YI

If you guessed inning-ending triple play when that ball left the bat, then congrats! You’re a liar!
The Red Sox have been playing ball at Fenway Park for more than 100 years, and I can’t imagine seeing a wackier triple play in that ballpark’s history. Leave it to the sure-handed (and ultra lucky) J.J. Hardy to turn a bone-head moment into the ultimate brain cramp for Boston’s base runners.
Not quite what you want out of a two-on, no out situation … unless you’re an Orioles pitcher, of course.
