Yesterday, the Texas Rangers beat the Houston Astros by a final score of 10-4, but that almost wasn’t the case.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, the Astros threatened with just one out and the bases loaded, when Marwin Gonzalez cracked a line drive into center field. But instead of falling for a base hit and probably scoring two runs (like that exact hit does 86% of the time), Rangers center fielder Carlos Gomez made an amazing diving catch:
This ball is caught only 14% of the time. That's called a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ catch.

According to Statcast, that ball is caught just 14% of the time, making it one of the rare “Five-Star” catches of the season. The Astros notched one run on the play – a tag-up from third – but the damage could’ve been much worse.
