Whether it’s the Majors, Minors, College ball, or a junk yard game, a beautiful diving stop up the middle is a beautiful diving stop up the middle. And on April 30, Florida Gator shortstop Dalton Guthrie made a beautiful diving stop up the middle, and a possibly even more impressive throw to get the runner at first base.
Check it out:
What a play (or two plays, rather). I really still can’t decide which half of it was the most impressive. I’m leaning towards the throw, but that stop is just so killer. One thing I do know is if he keeps making plays like that, his glove might just carry him to the next level. Very awesome.
The Gators went on to win 4-3.
