Through just 75 games, Aaron Judge has already hit a full season’s worth of home runs. Indeed, he leads the entire Major Leagues by three full homers:
- Aaron Judge: 27
- George Springer: 24
- Cody Bellinger: 24
- Joey Votto: 23
- Logan Morrison: 22
And he would have led by four this morning, if it weren’t for Melky Cabrera robbing him last night at Guaranteed Rate Field … and keeping everyone at the stadium in suspense of whether he actually caught the ball or not.

Oh, that’s cold.
Because he came down like nothing happened and began looking around, Aaron Judge made it all the way to second base in his home run trot, before having to put his tail between his legs and trot back to the dugout. That’s absolutely devastating (and also pretty hilarious).

Now that we’ve gotten past the meat of the post, I’d like to point out that Melky Cabrera has robbed not one, not two, but THREE home runs within the past YEAR. He robbed Aaron Judge last night, of course, he robbed Cameron Maybin on September 5 of last season, and Kris Bryant on July 25th, as well.
The guy with -2 defensive runs saved and -10.2 DEF rating (second worst among all MLB left fielders) has robbed three sluggers of home runs within a year. That’s pretty damn impressive. And also completely mind-boggling.
White Sox win 4-3.
