Jose Altuve’s Defense in Game 3 Wasn’t Enough to Save the Astros, But It Was Freakin’ Awesome

The Houston Astros may have failed to take a commanding 3-0 lead against the Yankees last night (indeed, they lost 8-1), but Jose Altuve’s defense was sure out in full force.

Check out these two amazing defensive plays made by the Astros shortstop second baseman, including a full-extension dive, stop, and throw and a crazy, out-saving flip to first:

Unbelievable.

Those two plays may not have been enough to help the Astros topple the Yankees, but they sure were fun to watch. As this guy always is:
