Back during Game 7 of the 2016 World Series, Jon Lester and David Ross came into the game in the 5th inning to relieve the starting battery of Kyle Hendricks and Willson Contreras. Unfortunately, with runners on second and third, Lester uncorked a wild pitch that let two runs score.
And yet, somehow, that wasn’t the worst/most damaging wild pitch I’ve ever seen.

Okay, maybe Game 7 of the World Series has a little more on the line, but wow is this one embarrassing pitch for Rockies’ pitcher Christian Friedrich – especially because, okay, sure, wild pitches happen and throwing errors happen … but not managing to get the ball back in time to nab Jean Segura … who scored from FIRST BASE … is pretty unacceptable.
And also pretty hilarious.
