Ian Kinsler Accidentally Stole Third Base, When He Thought the Inning Was Over

Funny and Happy

During his twelve seasons in the Major Leagues, second baseman Ian Kinsler has stolen 225 bases …

… None of which have been as easy as the one he stole yesterday:

With two outs in the inning, Kinsler thought the whiff at the plate was the final strike of the at-bat (and, thus, final out of the inning), but it was actually just strike two for Justin Upton.

So Kinsler trotted down to third base, and the Dodgers’ catcher/third base tandem couldn’t quite figure out what was happening in time to make a throw.¬†Easy peasy.

My favorite part is his “I should try this more often!” face.

Upton eventually struck out, and the inning ended for real.
