Lost in the Shuffle of a Crazy Opening Day, Craig Gentry Robbed a Homer and Probably Saved the Game

Incredible Plays

Yesterday, may have been the best Opening Day in the history of baseball. Seriously, it was absolutely nuts and I’m still playing catch-up, trying to get to all the best stuff.

Instead of re-listing the things we have covered, though, just check out this Opening Day hype video from MLB (warning: It’s awesome):

But one of the things that’s fallen through the cracks so far, is the amazing home run robbery Orioles outfielder Craig Gentry committed against the Twins’ Eddie Rosario in the top of the 2nd inning:

DUUUUUUDE.

That’s a legit home-run robbery and one that REALLY mattered. Obviously, that catch saved a run, and given the way the rest of the game played out (a 2-2 was taken into extra innings), it was a game-saver.

Speaking of that 2-2 tie in extras …

Has there ever been a better Opening Day?
