So … this is – WITHOUT A DOUBT – my first favorite moment of the 2018 season.
Yesterday, the Atlanta Braves hosted the Washington Nationals for the first of three games at SunTrust Park in Atlanta. And being that SunTrust is the Braves’ home, they’re in charge of picking the music when certain batters walk up to the plate.
So everyone probably had a good laugh when the “Darth Vadar” theme played over the loud speakers as Bryce Harper stepped up to the plate.
Unfortunately – like Vader before him – Harper was a young, rebellious prodigy, who eventually became the most powerful person at his position in the galaxy (I was joking when I started that sentence, but it’s pretty funny how much they share in common).
Anyway, you know what he did next:
IMMEDIATELY HOMERS.
Somehow, this is even better than the time Harper homered just after someone shouted out “OVERRRATED” from the stands … and that was like two days ago:
