Carlos Gomez joined the Texas Rangers in August of 2016 and wound up spending the entire 2017 season there, before joining the Rays this past offseason. Adrian Beltre has been with the Rangers since 2011, so the their paths have definitely crossed over the past couple seasons – and by all accounts, yeah, they’re friends.
But last night, Beltre was (light-heartedly) ticked off when Gomez tried to throw out the 39-year-old third baseman at first on a single to right field.
Check it out:
That’s too funny.
Beltre’s hands go up in the air immediately, and Gomez gives him the shoulder shrug, as if to say, “Hey man, you’re basically the league veteran … you should know you gotta run!”
A few smiles/laughs are exchanged and we all win because of it.
