Given Wrigley Field’s unique location within the heart of a Chicago neighborhood, there are many nearby restaurants, coffee shops, and bars (lots of bars). Which means it’s not an uncommon tradition for visiting teams to send their rookies out on a shopping spree in full uniform before games.
Yesterday, Rockies’ rookie Noel Cuevas was sent across the street – in full uniform – to Starbucks to fetch some coffee and snacks before yesterdays game and the total ran him over $100!
And, hey, it must’ve worked, because the Rockies went on to score 11 runs against the Cubs, winning the series.
