When Adam Engel woke up last Monday, he probably didn’t know what kind of week his glove and legs had in store for him, but it was a busy one. Indeed, in back-to-back games, Engel robbed home runs from the Yankees at the Guaranteed Rate Field, which prompted some love from all of us here at Baseball is Fun:

After all, robbing one home is hard enough, but robbing a second? That’s just down right crazy. But guess what … he robbed ANOTHER one last night, this time against the Cleveland Indians. And it might just be the most impressive of the bunch.
Check it out (plus a bonus home run from him in the bottom half of the inning):

As the announcers and I’m sure many others have pointed out by now, even getting the opportunity to rob three homers in a week is pretty unbelievable. But the fact that he executed successfully on every single one of them? That’s just nuts.
Engel’s not quite the most adored defensive center fielder – either by scouts or the advanced metrics – but perhaps that’s going to change soon. If it doesn’t, it should.
