Although this offseason began promisingly, we’ve quickly learned that teams like the Cubs and Dodgers might not have nearly as much to spend as we once thought while the Yankees are planning to sit out the Bryce Harper sweepstakes altogether.
I’m guessing he (and Manny Machado) might still get a huge deal, but if those three payroll powerhouses are all out, a record-breaking contract may not be in the bag.
But we don’t have to rely on rumors and transactions for all of our offseason fun. After all, there is some real baseball going on in the world, including stars from the Major Leagues. For example, the Japan All-Star Series is currently underway in Japan, and it features big leaguers like Juan Soto, Ronald Acuna, Eugenio Suarez, Whit Merrifield, J.T. Realmuto, Yadier Molina, and a ton of other notable names.
And recently, Juan Soto gave us something to cheer about. Watch as he gets lucky with a “double” off the roof and does a little dance at second base to celebrate:
ROOF there it is.

It’s not much, but it’s baseball.
