San Diego-ites, San Diego-ins, San Diegons … The Padres Just Held the Inaugural “Anchorman” Race

Baseball Is Fun

50% of the time, it works … every time.

Well, I could be wrong, but I believe diversity is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

Where’d you get your clothes… from the… toilet store?

You stay classy, San Diego. I’m Ron Burgundy?

There is no shortage of quotable moments from Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and no shortage of folks who like to quote it. Anchorman was pretty much an instant-classic and cult-classic, to whatever extent that’s possible, and with a cast like Will Ferrell, Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, David Koechner, Fred Willard, Chris Parnell, and plenty others it’s not much of a surprise.

It also, as we all know, put San Diego ON THE MAP. That movie taught us the history of San Diego, it’s literal translation related to whales, and what to call San Diegons.

So I’m not surprised to see San Diego returning the favor, with their inaugural Anchorman race at Petco Park.

Watch as Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Brick Tamland, and Champ Kind race around the warning track for the first of many races in their illustrious news anchor careers:
